Red Betel Tree, 홍빈수 [Hong Binsu]
The name ‘红槟树 (Red Betel Tree, 홍빈수 [Hong Binsu])’ is composed of two key elements, each carrying deep significance:
• Red (红, 홍 [Hong])
The color red symbolizes good fortune, prosperity, success, and energy in Chinese culture. It embodies the company’s vision for continuous growth and expansion, while also reflecting strong leadership and passionate ambition.
• Betel Tree (槟树, 빈랑나무 [Binsu])
The betel tree is a symbol of resilience and perseverance, thriving in tropical regions despite harsh environmental conditions. This signifies the company’s ability to establish itself firmly in competitive markets and continue its development despite challenges.
Our Team
Ruby Chen
Ms. Ruby Chen is an experienced executive with a proven track record in business development, healthcare management, and education technology. She holds a Master of Health Administration from Cornell University, graduating magna cum laude, and a Bachelor of Science in Finance with Research Distinction from The Ohio State University. Her academic qualifications are further complemented by advanced certifications, including CFA Level II and Bloomberg Equity Essentials, which underline her technical and analytical proficiency.
As the Founder and CEO of HBS Education Technology, Ms. Chen has overseen the strategic growth of the organization, focusing on innovative approaches to education technology. She has leveraged her expertise to position the company within competitive markets, aligning its offerings with evolving global needs. Previously, she served as In-Country Representative for Cleveland Clinic, where she managed strategic initiatives to strengthen the organization’s presence in China, and as Business Development Manager for UCSF Health, driving partnerships and operational efficiency.
Ms. Chen’s career spans leadership roles across diverse industries, where she has demonstrated her ability to lead complex projects and deliver impactful results. Her multidisciplinary background enables her to integrate insights from finance, healthcare, and education to achieve sustainable outcomes. With her focus on strategic execution and operational excellence, Ms. Chen continues to contribute meaningfully to the industries she serves, ensuring long-term value creation and innovation.
Woosung Hwang, Ph.D.
Dr. Woosung Hwang is a professional with a distinguished career that combines advanced academic expertise with strategic knowledge in education, research, and global collaboration. With a PhD in Chemistry from M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University and a master’s degree in administrative studies from Boston College, he demonstrates a strong foundation in scientific research and organizational management.
Dr. Hwang’s academic background includes fellowships at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and an internship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, both affiliated with Harvard Medical School, where he developed a focus on biotechnology and medical innovation. His role in operations with Harvard’s Professional Medical Education program underscores his commitment to advancing healthcare and education through practical and impactful contributions.
Beyond academia, Dr. Hwang has consulted for Silicon Valley enterprises, applying research to real-world challenges and aligning innovative solutions with strategic goals. His multidisciplinary expertise and international experience support meaningful advancements in science, healthcare, and innovation.
Woo Jin Hwang
Mr. Woo Jin Hwang’s career reflects a well-rounded background in education, research, and strategic development. He combines academic depth with practical insights gained from a PhD candidate at Yonsei University, a master’s degree in administrative studies from Boston College, and a bachelor’s degree in political science from M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University. His academic foundation is further complemented by professional training, including certifications from the Harvard Kennedy School in nonprofit and NGO management and the Institute of Biomedical Entrepreneurship in London.
Mr. Hwang’s professional experience spans various sectors and international contexts. As Vice President of Strategic Development at a leading innovation company in Korea, he has played a pivotal role in driving growth and operational advancements. Additionally, he serves as Local Site Director for the PPCR program at Harvard University, focusing on advancing clinical research education. Mr. Hwang has actively contributed to global initiatives involving trade, investment, and public relations, showcasing his commitment to fostering international collaboration.
His diverse expertise is supported by operational experience in research roles at Boston College and strategic advisory positions in South Korea. Mr. Hwang’s contributions also include publishing studies on innovation platforms and strategies for medical institutions. This combination of academic excellence, professional capability, and a global outlook demonstrates his ability to address complex challenges and deliver meaningful results across diverse fields.
Jun Li, Ph.D.
Dr. Jun Li is a professional with extensive expertise in research, healthcare, and cross-border business development. He earned a PhD in Materials Science from Vanderbilt University and a master’s degree in Polymer Chemistry and Physics from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. His academic background includes postdoctoral training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he worked on drug development and medical imaging, contributing to publications in leading journals such as Nature Medicine and Clinical Cancer Research.
Dr. Li’s career spans R&D, strategic business development, and investment in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. Currently, as the Business Development Executive at ByCare, he oversees initiatives in the United States and Europe, focusing on high-quality healthcare products. His prior roles include Director of Business Development and Licensing at Livzon Pharmaceutical Group, where he managed cross-border licensing deals through strategic sourcing, evaluation, and due diligence. He also served as Executive Vice President at Kongsun Healthcare Group, where he led R&D and business development operations.
In addition, Dr. Li has held leadership roles such as Head of Strategy and Business Development at HMBest, a joint venture with Mayo Clinic, and Senior Director at Country Garden Holdings. His experience integrating R&D with strategic business planning has enabled him to identify opportunities and drive initiatives in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. Dr. Li’s solid track record reflects a focus on advancing healthcare innovation and fostering collaboration across global markets.
